Great Western Hotel Aberdeen, Aberdeen

The hotel is in a convenient location close to the city center with friendly and attentive service. The rooms were a bit stuffy even with the window opened, needing painting and located up two flights of stairs. The breakfast was great, and the location is ideal for exploring the city.

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms were not as expected, with poor-quality beds and dated fittings, but they were clean with distinctive decor. The west-facing room above the smoking area made it uncomfortable due to the lack of air conditioning. The service was a pleasant surprise with attentive staff and a relaxed atmosphere, although the loud sound system at mealtime was a downside. The location was convenient with easy parking, suitable for dog walking, but the placement above a smoking area was not ideal. The dining experience was hit or miss, especially for those preferring Continental style, and the self-service aspect could be improved. The facilities were adequate but could use enhancements. Overall, the stay was tolerable but had room for improvement.
